PE, Health and Sport

This term our initial PE focus is distance running. The primary aim to to build our fitness leading into the school Cross Country in week 4. Like all our sport programmes however, there are wider benefits for our students such as goal setting, personal pride in achievement, perseverence, teamwork and supporting each other. Of course, many students are also involved in other winter sports and they are sure to benefit from improving their general fitness for these as well.

Once again, a huge thank you to our parent helpers. Without your support our wide range of sporting opportunities available for your children would not be possible. Sports on this term include Flippaball, netball and basketball. Practices for Interschool Rugby League will begin shortly. Organsiation for the Kids Marathon and Ski/Snowbaord team will also begin very soon. The Westmere Fun Run Club operates every Wednesday morning at 8.00am for any Year3-6 students interested in running for fitness and health and of course FUN! During lunchtimes, we also offer a range of different sporting opportunities for any students to have a go at.
